Chili cook-off set Feb. 23 at church in North Lima

Nine cooks will provide the ingredients for a chili cook-off from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 23 at the Common Ground Church Community, 2310 W. South Range Road.

Funds raised will benefit Goodness Grows by helping furnish renovated greenhouses with equipment and adaptive working areas.

The goal is $5,000 to kick-start a horticultural training workshop with special needs high school students.

The family-friendly event includes chili samples and pi ±atas for children at noon, 1 and 2 p.m.

The cost is $8.75 in advance or $10 at the door.

Winners will receive a framed and mounted commemorative mini-apron.
