Sara Straniak, formerly of Boardman, and Dr. Tracy Gapin, both of Sarasota, Fla., were married Nov. 10, 2012, during a ceremony at the Ritz-Carlton Beach Club in Sarasota.

Officiant at the 4:30 p.m. service was Danny Bilyeu.

The newlyweds received guests at a reception, also at the Ritz-Carlton Beach Club.

After a honeymoon to Australia and New Zealand, the couple live in Sarasota.

Parents of the bride are Kathy Straniak of Sarasota, formerly of Boardman, and the late John Straniak. Dr. Steven and Julie Berkey of Plano, Texas, are parents of the groom.

The bride wore a strapless gown with a sweetheart neckline. The bodice was embellished with pearls and Swarovski crystals, and chiffon petals on the skirt were appliqued.

Pamela Florig, the bride’s sister, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Christine McCallum, the bride’s sister; Jami Heymann, the groom’s sister; Polly Blazakis, the bride’s cousin; Jennifer Poultney; and Kerri Brey. Flower girls were Sophia Blazakis, the bride’s cousin, and Annabelle Heymann, the groom’s niece. The attendants wore pewter-colored dresses.

The groom’s brother, Adam Berkey, performed the duties of best man. Groomsmen were Richard Heymann, the groom’s brother-in-law; Richard Florig, the bride’s brother-in-law; Dr. Keith Schrader; Dr. Robert Herbold; and Dr. Andrew Fine. The bride’s cousin, Jack Smalley, was the ring bearer. Ushers were Brian Straniak, the bride’s cousin, and Ben and Jacob Heymann, the groom’s nephews.

The bride earned a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education from Youngstown State University. She is the owner of Doorstep Delivery in Sarasota.

The groom received a bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University and a doctorate of medicine from University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. He is a partner at Florida Urology Specialists in Sarasota.
