Vigil planned Friday for Youngstown man killed in hit-skip accident
YOUNGSTOWN — Family and friends of a man killed in a hit/skip accident on the city’s South Side this week will come together Friday for a candlelight vigil in his honor.
Robert Brown, 23, of Youngstown, died Monday from injuries he received after being hit by a car on Hylda Avenue over the last weekend. Brown was leaving a bar near Hylda and Market Street when he was hit.
The car that hit Brown left the scene without stopping. Police are still looking for the driver.
Those who knew Brown will be gathering outside Duka’s Bar on Hylda at 6:30 p.m.
The family has also set up a memorial fund for Brown at any Huntington Bank under Robert G. Brown Jr. Memorial Fund.
