If you wish to reserve a location at Mill Creek MetroParks this year, you can do so online. Go to www.millcreekmetroparks.org and click the tab “Rent a Facility” on the left side of the Web page. Park officials say this will easily navigate you through the necessary procedures to making your online reservation. For information or assistance with your reservation, call 330-702-3000.

Annual breakfast

Horizon Science Academy, 3403 Southern Blvd., will host its second annual community breakfast at 7:30 a.m. Feb. 14. The meal will be catered by Antone’s Banquet Center. Mahoning County Treasurer Daniel Yemma will give a keynote address at the event.

TCTC open house

Trumbull Career and Technical Center will host an open house from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the school, 528 Educational Highway.

The event is open to the public as well as anyone interested in exploring what TCTC has to offer. TCTC is a joint campus comprising both a high school and an adult education and career center. The event will provide individuals the opportunity to tour the facility, meet teachers and staff, learn about the high school and adult education and the career center’s programs, participate in interactive demonstrations, enjoy refreshments and register to win door prizes.

Volunteers sought

HOWLAND

Betty’s Angels Inc. of Howland is seeking volunteers interested in helping the privately funded children’s shelter as it grows.

The organization is having an open meeting today at 6:30 p.m. at Howland Community Church, 198 Niles-Cortland Road (state Route 46), for anyone interested in assisting with its mission, which has been rescuing children who are victims of crime since 1977.
