Children's shelter needs volunteers; meeting tonight

Betty’s Angels Inc. of Howland is seeking volunteers interested in helping the privately funded children’s shelter as it grows.

The organization is having an open meeting today at 6:30 p.m. at Howland Community Church, 198 Niles-Cortland Road (state Route 46), for anyone interested in assisting with its mission, which has been rescuing children who are victims of crime since 1977.

The focus is on keeping siblings together.
