Train hits truck in W.Pa.
SALINA, Pa. (AP) — A train has derailed in western Pennsylvania after hitting the rear of a tractor-trailer, but no serious injuries were reported.
Emergency officials say a Norfolk Southern train hit the rear of a tractor-trailer that was crossing the tracks in Salina at about 7:30 a.m. today. That’s about 30 miles east of Pittsburgh.
The wreck caused the derailment of three train engines and three cars, and hazardous materials crews are working to clean up a 55-gallon drum of cleaning fluid that spilled from the truck.
The tractor-trailer driver was taken to the hospital for a bruise on his head.
