UPDATE: Power restored to areas of Boardman and Beaver townships

BOARDMAN — Power was restored early this evening to customers in Beaver and Boardman townships, a First Energy spokesman said.

About 2,700 Ohio Edison customers are without power this afternoon and the first reports of an outage came in at 2:57 p.m., said spokesman David Turner.

Turner said the cause of the outage was equipment failure.

Vindicator readers also reported traffic light outages on Market Street. The Southern Park Mall on the corner of Market Street and U.S. Route 224 also was without power for a period today, a customer service representative.
