Neighbors vow to find those who took girl
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Community groups in west Philadelphia are vowing to help police find whoever abducted a 5-year-old girl from her Philadelphia elementary school last month.
The girl was taken out of her classroom at the Bryant School by a woman posing as her mother and officials say school protocol was not followed. The girl was found partially clothed at a playground just outside the city the next day.
Police have said they are looking for three “persons of interest” in the case.
The Philadelphia Inquirer reports that on Thursday a group of community leaders gathered at the Mount Carmel Baptist Church and vowed to help police find whoever is responsible.
Pamela Williams, a pastor and activist, says they will be knocking on doors and passing out leaflets.
