Passengers file federal suit against Greyhound over crash

DETROIT

Three passengers aboard a Greyhound bus that rolled over and crashed in Ohio have filed a federal civil suit against the company.

Prominent suburban- Detroit lawyer Geoffrey Fieger is representing Rayvar Williams of Detroit; Lorianne Stevens of Halladay, Tenn.; and Tyrone Allen of Winston-Salem, N.C.

The lawsuit says Greyhound was negligent and inflicted emotional distress. It was filed Friday and requests a jury trial.

The bus was carrying 51 passengers from Cincinnati to Detroit when it ran off Interstate 75 about 25 miles north of Cincinnati about 4 a.m. Sept. 14.

The bus hit a fence and tree. About three-dozen people were hurt.

Driver Dwayne Garrett was cited for operating a vehicle without reasonable control.

Greyhound spokeswoman Alexandra Pedrini said Monday that the company can’t discuss pending litigation.
