Ohio gas prices shoot up to end the year


COLUMBUS (AP) — After dipping below the $3 mark at many stations just before the holidays, Ohio gas prices have shot back up to end 2013.

The average this morning was $3.40 for a gallon of regular gas in the survey from auto club AAA, the Oil Price Information Service and WEX Inc. That’s up cents 14 cents from last week.

The national average today was $3.31, up 6 cents from last week.

The Ohio average is 23 cents higher than a month ago, and 3 cents higher than this time last year.

The lowest average gas price in the state today was $3.36 in the Youngstown area.
