Man arrested for theft after mom accuses him of using her debit card

BOARDMAN — Township police arrested a 31-year-old man over the weekend after his mother claimed he used her debit card without permission.

Thomas Evans of Santa Fe Trail in Boardman was charged with a fifth-degree felony of theft on Saturday. He was taken to the Mahoning County jail.

Evans' mother told police she believed her son withdrew $500 from her bank account on Dec. 26.

Evans' admitted to police that he took her debit card, according to a police report.

The mother told police this is not the first time her son used her card without her permission.

A court date has not been scheduled.
