“The 36th Annual Kennedy Center Honors” (9 p.m., CBS): Actress Shirley MacLaine, opera singer Martina Arroyo, and musicians Herbie Hancock, Billy Joel and Carlos Santana all get their due during “The 36th Annual Kennedy Center Honors.” Glenn Close hosts the event.

“Call the Midwife Holiday Special” (9 p.m., PBS): In the “Call the Midwife Holiday Special,” the residents of Nonnatus House relive the trials of wartime when they are notified that an unexploded bomb has been uncovered nearby and the district has to be evacuated.

“Treme” (9 p.m., HBO): Break out the red beans and rice. “Treme,” the highly-admired, but lightly viewed, drama set in post-Katrina New Orleans ends its four-season run with its series finale tonight. Here’s hoping for some proper closure.

New Year’s party at Saxon Club

AUSTINTOWN

The Saxon Club, 710 S. Meridian Road, will have a New Year’s Eve party featuring the band Guys Without Ties. Doors open at 7 p.m., and dinner begins at 7:30. The band will start at 8:30.

There will be a continental buffet and champagne toast at midnight. The evening will include an open bar, coffee and tea. Tickets are $45 per person, and the event is open to the public.

Jazz concert series at the Georgetown

VLH Productions will present a series of smooth jazz dinner-concerts at The Georgetown, 5945 South Ave.

The series will begin March 14 with pianist Marcus Johnson. Next up is flutist Bobbi Humphrey, known as the First Lady of Flute, April 4. Ending the series is guitarist Peter White May 16.

Each evening begins with dinner at 6 p.m. and the concert at 7:30 p.m. Tickets for each show are $55 per person at vlhproductions.com, showclix.com and Satolli Carpet, 361 High St., Warren.
