Rapper among two killed in Ala. shooting

MONTGOMERY, Ala.

Police in Alabama are investigating the killings of rapper Doe B. and another person in a shooting Saturday that also wounded six others inside a bar and grill.

Police say the gunfire happened around 1 a.m. about a half-mile north of Alabama State University.

Police identified those killed as 21-year-old Kimberle Johnson and 22-year-old Glenn Thomas, both of Montgomery. They said Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene. Thomas — an up-and-coming rapper known as Doe B. — was taken to Baptist Medical Center South, where he was later pronounced dead.

DJ Frank White of Montgomery, who managed Doe B.’s career, said the shooting took place at Centennial Hill Bar & Grill in Montgomery and that Doe B. wasn’t performing at the time.

White said the rapper had two young children and a third on the way.

Man admits beating ‘Amish Mafia’ star

LANCASTER, Pa.

A central Pennsylvania man has pleaded guilty to beating a star of the TV series “Amish Mafia.”

Imir Williams admitted assaulting and stalking girlfriend Esther Schmucker, who appears on the Discovery Channel show based in Lancaster County.

Authorities say Williams repeatedly punched Schmucker on Oct. 31 at her Strasburg home, breaking her nose, cheekbone and several teeth.

The Intelligencer Journal/Lancaster New Era reports Williams had been jailed for the past seven weeks. He was released on bail Monday, having served a month more than the standard penalty for such charges.

Williams was placed on probation for three years and ordered to have no contact with Schmucker.

The 27-year-old victim says she’s disappointed Williams wasn’t charged with a harsher crime.

Williams is not on the program.
