Man shot on North Side

YOUNGSTOWN

One man was shot at 736 Fairmont Avenue on the North Side at 9:33 p.m. today, police said.

He was taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center, where personnel “are working on him,” police said.

A woman called police saying she heard gunshots from inside the house and didn’t know if the suspect is still there.

Police could be seen looking in the driveway and backyard of the home, which is near Wirt Street. A man at the scene said the victim was “shot in the back.”
