YOUNGSTOWN

A Mahoning County grand jury indicted a Rogers man and a Pittsburgh woman on charges related to a methamphetamine lab police said was contained in the trunk of a car they stopped at 11th Street and Reed Avenue in Campbell on Nov. 23.

Jeremy Bowker, 30, of Peace Valley Road, and Jean Hartzell, 36, of Pittsburgh, were indicted Friday on felony charges of illegal manufacture of drugs, illegal assembly of chemicals for the manufacture of drugs and possessing drugs and criminal tools.

After Campbell police made the traffic stop, they said their dog, Storm, indicated the presence of drugs in the car’s trunk, where they found materials used in the cold-cooking process of making crystal meth.

One patrolman was knocked to the ground by the fumes, and he and two other police officers were decontaminated along with Bowker and Hartzell at the scene in a Mahoning County Haz-Mat tent, police said. All five were treated at St. Elizabeth Health Center.
