Warren police investigate Tuesday and Wednesday aggravated burglaries

A 24-year-old woman and 20-year-old man living in the 2200 block of Jackson Street Southwest reported being robbed at gunpoint of cellphones, a wallet, two pellet guns and a PlayStation 3 video game at 10:54 p.m. Monday.

The two said three men, one with a gun, entered the front door when the male resident answered it, and they demanded money.

The men forced the two adults and two small children into a bedroom, and the man holding the gun hit the male victim in the face with it, causing swelling to the victim’s eye area, according to a police report.

Police also investigated a report of shots fired at an apartment on Fifth Street Southwest at 5:47 p.m. Monday and found a 25-year-old Niles man there with a minor abrasion to his buttocks that police said did not appear to be bullet-related.

Police found bullet casings at the apartment and a closet door damaged by a bullet, but the victim provided little information about the incident. The victim was taken to ValleyCare Trumbull Memorial Hospital for treatment.

In a Christmas morning incident, Reginald D. Scrivens Jr., 24, of Red Fox Run Drive Northwest, has been charged with burglary, receiving stolen property, being a felon in possession of a firearm and failure to comply with the orders of a police officer.

A judge in Warren Municipal Court entered a not-guilty plea for Scrivens and set his bond at $75,000.

He was arrested after police were called to a house in the 2800 block of Merriweather Street Northwest at 10:44 a.m.

A police report says the property involved was a handgun and shoulder holster. No other information was provided.
