Preschoolers celebrate Christmas at St. Luke’s

St. Luke’s Early Childhood Learning Center’s 3-year-old preschool class, led by Cindy Hritz and Shelia Dunlap, entertained family and friends during the school’s Christmas Program and Party Dec. 17.
“Thank you for coming this morning. The staff and I would like to wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year,” said Ann St. George, director of the learning center, as she welcomed the crowd.
The class, with their reindeer hats firmly in place, sang “Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer” for their guests. The children were then joined by the school’s Mommy and Me Class and all sang “Where is Santa?” and “Santa Claus is Coming to Town.”
St. George addressed the children and asked them whose birthday is on Christmas and the children answered Jesus, which led the children to sing “Happy Birthday, Jesus.”
“We want to wish you all a very Merry Christmas,” St. George told the audience, which was the children’s cue to sing “We Wish You a Merry Christmas.”
St. George then asked the children a very important question.
“Do you hear something? I think we have a special visitor… somebody from the North Pole. I hear bells ringing. His sleigh just landed and he is here to see you,” St. George told the children.
Much to the delight of the students, Santa appeared and, after greeting the children, proceeded to the front of the room and invited each child to come sit on his lap and tell him what he or she wanted for Christmas. Santa also gave each child a special treat.
While the students took turns visiting with Santa, they and their guests had doughnuts, milk and coffee.
