Man indicted in death of his Howland sister

WARREN

A Trumbull County grand jury has indicted Bradley Milligan, 48, of Howland on two counts of aggravated murder and one count of aggravated robbery in the death of his sister, Laura Michael, 52.

Milligan could be convicted on both murder counts, but could only be sentenced on one of them. If convicted, he could get a life prison sentence with no parole.

Howland police found Laura Michael dead Dec. 18 in the basement of the home Milligan and Michael shared on Howland Springs Road. They had been called there by Michael’s daughter, who had not heard from her mother in a couple of days.

Michael had been bludgeoned to death, and her car was missing. Police later found her car at the Super Kmart in Howland.

The aggravated robbery charge relates to the missing car and a debit card.

Also indicted Friday in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court is Chonk Suk Williams, 70, of Cool Springs Church, Mercer, Pa., on two counts of bribery.

Williams, owner of Suzi Kim’s Spa on Youngstown Road in Niles, was accused by Niles police of trying twice to bribe an inspector with the Niles Fire Department in July.

The bribes were purportedly offered in an attempt to get a favorable report so it could reopen after Niles officials closed it down earlier for violations of health, income tax, fire, building and zoning and police ordinances.

Milligan and Williams are expected to be arraigned next week.
