Campbell woman was cited for obstructing official business

CAMPBELL— A Campbell woman was cited for obstructing official business after she falsely reported to police that her son was attempting to harm himself.

At 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Crystal Harris called city police.

Officers responded to the residence of Harris’ 27-year-old son, in the 300 block of Whipple Avenue, for his safety, and learned that he did not plan to harm himself. In addition, Harris hadn’t been with him when she made the false claims to police.

Harris’ grandparents, who were with her son, backed up the son’s story, and told police that Harris was just trying to start trouble.

Harris then arrived at the residence and continued to make more false claims. Harris appeared to be highly intoxicated, the police report said. Police told Harris to return to her home, and quit antagonizing her son and her parents.
