Austintown Lions and Lioness host Christmas party

Neighbors | Submitted.The Austintown Lions and Lioness Clubs hosted their annual Christmas party at Rachel's Restaurant in Austintown on Dec. 16.

On Dec. 16, the Austintown Lions and Lioness Clubs, spouses and friends hosted their annual Christmas party at Rachel’s Restaurant in Austintown. King Lion Bill Sywy presided at the event.

The clubs were proud of their accomplishments this past year, contributing to the many needs of the community including scholarships, paying for eye exams and glasses for the need and more. They also contributed to their Eye Care Foundation, Eye Research Foundation, Pilot Dogs of Ohio, International Relations, Lions International Foundation and Diabetes.

The clubs’ activities included three candy days, A Sweetest Day rose sale and a 5-K Run in May. They also assisted the Salvation Army with Bell Ringing chores.

The clubs wish to thank all of their patrons who contributed to their many projects.
