Deer makes appearance at Pa. sporting goods store

READING, Pa. (AP) — Shoppers looking for post-Christmas bargains got a surprise at a northeastern Pennsylvania sporting goods store when a deer decided to join them.

WFMZ-TV said the deer walked through the front door of Dick’s Sporting Goods store in Reading around 2:30 p.m. today.

Store manager Brad Meyer said the deer slipped on the floor and a customer managed to tackle it to the ground, preventing any injuries to customers or damage to the store.

The store called the Pennsylvania Game Commission, which arrived and removed the deer. No word on where it was released.
