Break in at elderly man’s home on Christmas

Boardman police report someone broke into a 92-year-old man’s home on Overhill Road on Christmas.

The man told police after he watched the 11 p.m. newscast he went to the restroom, and then realized his door was wide open.

When the man went to secure the door he then noticed that a kitchen window was smashed.

The man cannot hear very well, which explained why he didn’t hear the break in.

To leave the residence through the locked doors, whoever broke in had to use a skeleton key. Police discovered the skeleton key missing.

Police did find a set of footprints. They was nothing missing from the residence except for the skeleton key.
