OSHP probes wrong-way crash that killed 2

FREMONT, Ohio (AP) — The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating what led up to a wrong-way crash that killed two people in northern Ohio.

The crash happened Monday night on State Route 20 in Fremont.

Troopers say a car driven by 61-year-old Charles Starks of Fremont was going the wrong way when it struck a pickup truck driven by 57-year-old Evelyn Hunt of Fremont.

The patrol says both drivers were killed and that Hunt’s 15-year-old grandson was injured.

Evelyn Hunt’s husband tells The News-Messenger newspaper in Fremont that his wife and grandson were out Christmas shopping when the crash occurred.
