MUSICAL EVENT

Midway Mennonite Church, 13376 Columbiana-Canfield Road (state Route 46), Columbiana, will present a musical service at 7 p.m. today, Christmas Eve.

The chorus program of a cappella and piano-accompanied Christmas sacred songs will end with candlelight carol singing. Prelude will be at 6:40 p.m.

The theme is “Jesus: Messiah of the World.” Live shepherds will interact with participants before and after the program by Midway Christmas Chorus. Also performing will be a children’s choir and an instrumental ensemble. Janna Hunter-Bowman will offer a brief meditation.

Utility assistance

Trumbull Community Action Program, 1230 Palmyra Road SW, Warren, will provide emergency utility-bill assistance under the Winter Crisis Program through March 31.

The program can help eligible households avoid utility disconnection, restore disconnected service, establish new service and purchase fuel oil, propane, coal and wood.

Twenty-five walk-in customers will be seen every day from 7:30 a.m. to noon. Twenty-five walk-in customers will be seen in the afternoon on Mondays only.

Meeting canceled

Mahoning County Veterans Service Commission, at Oak Hill Renaissance Center, 345 Oak Hill Ave., Suite 100, Youngstown, has canceled its board meeting for Wednesday. The commission office will be closed today and Wednesday but will reopen at 8 a.m. Thursday.

CareerLink hours

The Pennsylvania CareerLink Mercer County, Sharon, Pa., will close to the public at noon today and Dec. 31 and will resume normal office hours at 8 a.m. Jan. 2.
