Judge R. Scott Krichbaum this morning denied a motion by a man convicted of a triple homicide in 1974.
After a hearing in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court, Judge Krichbaum denied motions for acquittal and a new trial for 64-year-old James Ferrara.
Ferrara was convicted of the December 1974 murders of Benjamin Marsh; his wife Marilyn; and their 4-year-old daughter Heather in their South Turner Road home in Canfield Township.
His attorney, Anthony Meranto, asked for either an acquittal or a new trial based on trial testimony of prosecution witnesses or what Meranto claimed was a lack of evidence.
