Horn workshop

YOUNGSTOWN

The Dana School of Music’s second annual horn workshop will be Jan. 12 from noon to 5 p.m. in Bliss Hall Room 2326.

The event is for high school and college horn players. Guest clinician is Youngstown State University alumnus Brett Miller, who performs in the Ceremonial Brass in the U.S. Air Force Band.

The clinic is free and open to the public and geared toward musicians of all levels.

Students should bring their own instruments but do not need to bring sheet music.

The clinic includes a recital by Stacie Mickens, Dana assistant professor of horn, and Miller; two master classes; and horn choir as well as horn displays and merchandise from Motter’s Music.

Free parking will be available in the M4 lot north of Pollock House on Wick Avenue, or in the V4 lot just south of Meshel Hall on Wick Avenue.

Reservations are not mandatory, but students are asked to confirm their attendance by emailing Mickens at srmickens@ysu.edu.
