Learn iPad basics

YOUNGSTOWN

The Jewish Community Center of Youngstown, 505 Gypsy Lane, will offer an iPad 101 course beginning in January.

The interactive beginner’s course will teach basic tools needed to use an iPad or tablet to its fullest potential. No iPad experience is required.

Classes will take place from 5:30 to 7 p.m. each Wednesday, Jan. 8, 15, 22 and 29, in the JCC board room. Cost is $40 for JCC members and $50 for nonmembers.

CareerLink hours

SHARON, PA.

The Pennsylvania CareerLink Mercer County will close to the public at noon Tuesday and Dec. 31 and will resume normal office hours Jan. 2 at 8 a.m.

The online CareerLink system is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week at www.jobgateway.pa.gov.

Coat, hat giveaway

WARREN

The Warren Rotary Club will present 200 coats and hats and 600 pairs of gloves to three area organizations Monday for distribution to children.

John Campolito, club president, and Rob Berk, club vice president, will present the items to The Salvation Army; Jill Merolla, supervisor of community outreach and grant development for Warren schools; and Chris Gilger, director of Warren Family Mission.

EAST LIVERPOOL

The Home Savings Charitable Foundation recently donated $5,000 to Thompson Park in support of its playground-renovation project. The check presentation of the donation will take place at noon Monday at the Home Savings Calcutta Branch, 15575 state Route 170.

Representatives from both Home Savings and Thompson Park will be in attendance.

Help select charities

GIRARD

The Gibson Agency LLC will donate $10,000 to 10 local charities and asks the public to vote to help Gibson select the agencies.

Voting ends at 4 p.m. Dec. 31 at the Gibson Insurance Agency Facebook page at www.facebook.com/gibsonagency.

The organization with the most votes gets $5,000. The one with the second-highest number of votes will get $1,000, and the other eight will get $500 each.
