Police looking for suspect in Market Street armed robbery

YOUNGSTOWN

City police are investigating an armed robbery at Dollar General, 2023 Market St., that occurred late Friday.

Shortly before 8 p.m. a white male — described as a six feet, two inches tall, between the ages of 26 and 28, and about 180 pounds — put a bag of white T-shirts on the counter, then produced a black handgun and demanded money from an employee. He took $188.33 in cash.

He was described as wearing a black zip-up hoodie with a large “1987” on the front and a yellow symbol on the hood, along with a dark shirt with horizontal stripes on it and white sneakers.
