$250K bond set for Howland homicide suspect

WARREN

Bond was set at $250,000 for Bradley E. Milligan, 48, of Howland Springs Road, charged with murder in the death of his sister, Laura L. Michael, 51.

Judge Thomas Gysegem of Warren Municipal Court entered a not-guilty plea for Milligan during an arraignment hearing Friday afternoon and set his next hearing for 10:15 a.m. Thursday.

Milligan was arrested Wednesday afternoon at the home he and his sister shared on Howland Springs Road after Howland police found Michael’s bludgeoned body in the basement.

Police went to the home at the request of Michael’s daughter, who said she hadn’t talked to her mother in a couple days.

Milligan has lived on and off with his sister and at a home in Columbus for the past couple of years, Howland police said. He was convicted of domestic violence against his sister in 2012.

Dr. Humphrey Germaniuk, Trumbull County coroner, ruled that Michael’s death was a homicide, the result of multiple sharp-force and blunt-force traumatic injuries.

Police have said she was bludgeoned to death by her attacker’s hands and possibly an “edged” item.
