A group of fourth-grade Robinwood Lane Elementary School students love to sing.
They shared that love with residents of Greenbriar Health Care Center Dec. 12.
Hosting events, such as students caroling, makes the residents happy and adds to their Christmas experience, said Dianna Stinson, activities director.
“The more we do, the merrier it is for them,” she said.
The choir is not only a music group, it’s a community service organization, said choir director Dean Wilson.
“So we try to come out at holiday time and bring a little holiday cheer to residents at local retirement communities,” he said.
A little more than 45 students performed for the Greenbriar residents.
“They are 9- and 10-year-old students who love to make music so much that they stay after school to practice with me one day a week,” Wilson said.
He told the residents, “You are in for a treat because [the students] are really good. We brought a little holiday cheer with us.”
They sang a variety of holiday songs, including “Winter Fantasy” and “Hot Chocolate,” using props such as paper cups to add to their performance.
