Youngstown police cite Canfield man for open container, drug possession

YOUNGSTOWN — Police cited a man for possession of marijuana and having an open container in a car after he was found passed out in a running car in a 122 W. Federal St. parking lot at 12:39 a.m. today.

Officer William Burton was on patrol downtown when he saw the car running and went to take a look and found a man later identified as Bajwa Eusha Saleem, 26, of Canfield, slumped over the wheel.

Burton wrote in a report that he could see an open can of beer inside and a bag of suspected marijuana. Burton’s report said he knocked on the car’s window, Saleem looked at him, then put his head back on the steering wheel.

The car door was open so Burton opened the door and checked to make sure Saleem did not medical attention before he was cited, reports said.
