Maruca files for probate judge

YOUNGSTOWN — Atty. Susan Maruca filed nominating petitions today to run for Mahoning County Probate Court judge in the May 2014 Democratic primary.

Maruca announced her candidacy on Oct. 10, and filed her nominating petitions today with the board of elections.

Incumbent Judge Mark Belinky, also a Democrat, is expected to seek re-election for the six-year position.

Feb. 5 is the filing deadline to get on the May primary ballot.

Judge Belinky easily won the 2008 Democratic primary with Maruca finishing last in a three-person race.
