Deadbeat Poets song in running for honor

Area rock band the Deadbeat Poets’ song “Johnny Sincere” is in the running for Coolest Song in the World, an online contest running through Dec. 28 on undergroundgarage.com. The website is for the Little Steven’s Underground Garage syndicated radio show, heard locally at 10 p.m. Sundays on WNCD.

The Deadbeat Poets won the title of Coolest Song of the Week Dec. 1, which put them in the running for the top honor. Most of the bands are under the radar, although Bruce Springsteen’s new single, “High Hopes,” is in the running.
