Cleveland mom sentenced in killing 3-year-old son

CLEVELAND (AP) — A Cleveland woman convicted of killing her 3-year-old son after first saying he disappeared at a park has been sentenced to 30 years to life in prison.

Prosecutors say the woman who has two other children never wanted the little boy.

A judge today sentenced Camilia Terry after prosecutors had asked for a life sentence without parole. She was found guilty of aggravated murder, gross abuse of a corpse and other charges in November.

Her son’s body was found at a trash transfer station after Terry reported him missing last year. She denied killing him.

Terry told the court that she’s not an evil person or a killer. Her attorney says they will appeal the conviction.
