Warren fire destroys garage, firefighter slightly injured

WARREN — Firefighters extinguished a blaze involving a detached garage at 149 Charles Avenue SE at 2:02 a.m. Wednesday, but the structure was a total loss, estimated at $15,000.

The garage was owned by JMD Painters and Home Improvement. The home on the property is vacant and was not damaged by the fire, fire Chief Ken Nussle said, adding that one firefighter suffered a minor injury. The cause remains under investigation, he said.
