CAMPBELL
Two city residents reported identity fraud to police Monday.
A 35-year-old Fairview Street resident told police that on Friday afternoon, she went to the Huntington Bank on Youngstown’s South Side and was told she had four different bank accounts open in two different states.
She added that she was unaware of those accounts and had not authorized anyone to open them.
Also on Monday, a 48-year-old Carlton Drive resident explained to police that she has been receiving bills for six vehicles that received parking tickets in New York City.
All six vehicles have New Jersey license plates.
She added that the company that has been sending her the bills told her that the six vehicles involved are under her lease number. A police check, however, showed that the vehicles have nothing to do with the woman.
Both identity fraud incidents are still under investigation.
