Valley home sales up over Nov. ’12, thanks to Trumbull County

Home sales in Mahoning and Columbiana counties fell last month compared with a year ago, while sales in Trumbull County spiked by 20 percent.
According to data released by the Youngstown-Columbiana Association of Realtors, 390 homes were sold in the Mahoning Valley last month, up from 377 from the same time a year ago.
Trumbull County drove much of the gains, with 161 homes sold in November. That was a 20 percent increase from 134 sold last November. The median sale price, however, slid by 9.8 percent to $67,000 from $74,250 the year before.
While sales in Columbiana County were down slightly to 57, the year-over-year median sale price climbed for the seventh month in a row. In November, it hit $95,000, a $10,000 increase from 2012.
Home sales in Mahoning County fell by 6 percent to 172 last month, and the median price dipped to $70,175 from $74,875.
