Ohio man killed in snowmobile accident

NORWALK, Ohio (AP) — Authorities say a 44-year-old man has killed in a weekend snowmobile accident in northern Ohio. The accident is under investigation.

The Sandusky Register reports that Gary Jenkins of Norwalk was killed late Saturday when the snowmobile he was riding struck a culvert and threw him south of Sandusky.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol said the 1997 Ski-Doo snowmobile struck a tree after hitting the culvert. The Huron County coroner pronounced Jenkins — who was wearing a helmet — dead at the scene.
