ACCOUNTING 6 EGCC students accepted into IMA

Eastern Gateway Community College accounting students Laurice Abdullah, Cyrus Bailey, Deborah Carrocce, Andrea Rober, Kevin Runkle and Shawntae Weathers were accepted into the Institute of Management Accountants through the Akron IMA Chapter.

The six students attend classes at the college’s Valley Center in Youngstown.

The Akron IMA Chapter recently hosted a dinner for the new members when the students learned networking skills, careers area and employment opportunities in the accounting field.

James Senary, chapter member and assistant professor at Eastern Gateway, said it was noted at the dinner by several employment agencies that “the unemployment rate for people in the accounting profession is at zero in Northeast Ohio.”
