FROSTBURG, MD.

Scott P. Johnson, formerly of Girard and a graduate of Youngstown State University, has written a recently published book, “The Faces of Lee Harvey Oswald: The Evolution of an Alleged Assassin.”

The book coincides with the 50th anniversary of the assassination of President Kennedy.

Johnson, son of Dale and Kathy Neely of Girard and Bob and Nancy Johnson of Austintown, is a professor of political science, coordinator of the Law & Society Program and a prelaw adviser at Frostburg State University in Maryland.

His research topics include U.S. Supreme Court unanimous decisions, presidential pardon power, the psychology of political assassins and the career of Justice David Souter.

He resides in Frostburg with his wife.

hAmericAnts series aims to teach kids

Fran Litch announces the publication of her children’s-books series “The AmericAnts.”

Litch earned a master’s degree from Youngstown State University and teaches in Ohio schools.

The first two books are intended to promote characters and answer questions and concerns of children. They are “Santa and the Magic Antlers” and “Anticipation Visits Grandma Antique.”

The characters are ants who live in a colony headed by a queen who shares her wisdom with them. They dress in clothes with patriotic colors and shapes of the American flag.
