At the Struthers Board of Education’s special meeting Tuesday, the board went into executive session to evaluate the superintendent, Joseph Nohra, and the treasurer, Arthur Ginnetti III. No action was taken. The board’s next regular meeting will be at 7 a.m. Tuesday at the Struthers Board of Education Office, 99 Euclid Ave.
Theft from garage

Police say $10,000 worth of tools and equipment was taken from a 3026 Southern Blvd. garage sometime between Friday and Tuesday morning.
Reports said the owner of JJ Connor Inc. noticed the equipment missing when he came to the business about 10 a.m. Tuesday.
Reports said two side doors and a garage door appeared to have been tampered with. Among the items missing were a snowblower, oxygen tank, tool set and a pressure washer.
We Are Warren launch

Mayor Doug Franklin, Warren schools Superintendent Michael Notar, the Raymond John Wean Foundation and the nonprofit Inspiring Minds organization will formally introduce the We Are Warren initiative at a press conference next Thursday.
We are Warren is a movement focused on planning a strategy for delivering after-school, youth recreation and youth leadership development, according to a press release.
The We Are Warren partners will address current issues and barriers for youth and inform people how they can get involved in changing the future of the city’s youth and the community.
The press conference will be at 10:30 a.m. at the Wean Foundation offices, 147 W. Market St.
YBI receives $450,000
YOUNGSTOWN
The Youngstown Business Incubator received $450,000 of the $12.8 million approved Wednesday by the Ohio Development Services Agency’s Ohio Third Frontier Commission to fund cutting-edge biomedical companies and help entrepreneurs and technology start-up companies get their businesses off the ground.
The Youngstown Business Incubator, 241 W. Federal St., will use the $450,000 to provide entrepreneurial support, including facilities, counseling and access to potential investors, to start-up companies in the fields of information technology and additive manufacturing. Also, a portion of the funding will be invested directly in YBI’s portfolio of companies.
