‘Spirit of Christmas’ at Victorian

The Victorian Players in conjunction with Centaur Stage Productions will present “In the Spirit of Christmas” at the Victorian Players Theater, 702 Mahoning Ave, this weekend and next.

Friday and Saturday performances begin at 7:30 p.m., with Sunday matinees at 2 p.m.

Tickets are $12 ($9 for students and senior citizens); group rates are available. Call 330-746-5455 for reservations.

The annual holiday show consists of four new one-act plays.

Leading off will be “The Christmas Dream” by I.E. Clark. The cast includes Linda McGrath, Cory Fowler, Vinnie Dragos, Ryan Newell and Kory Frederick.

Next will be “Ten Minutes Till Christmas” by Roger Clarke, with a cast of Christopher Haddock, Kory Frederick, Kara Planey, Abigail Planey, Hannah Planey, Madalyn Planey, Verity Osborn, Genevieve Hanna, Cecilia Hanna and Madelyn Hanna.

“Santa Claus vs. The Garden Gnomes” by Don Zolidis is third, with a cast consisting of Gia Almasy, Michelle Moorhead, Christopher Fidram, Christopher Haddock and Chloe Housteau.

Closing out the evening will be the classic “The Gift of the Magi” by Ann Coulter based on a story by O’Henry. Appearing in “Magi” will be Donnette Bishop, Kathryn Adams, Vinnie Dragos, Chloe Housteau and Heather McKenzie.

During all performances of “In the Spirit of Christmas,” the Victorian will be collecting canned goods and nonperishable food items for a local food pantry.
