Event planned in Canfield for Wreaths Across America

The Mahoning Valley’s Ohio State University Master Gardeners will gather Saturday to participate in the national annual Wreaths Across America Day.

The master gardeners are meeting for a ceremony at 10 a.m. at the Paradise United Church of Christ Cemetery on New Buffalo Road.

They will proceed to the Paradise Lutheran Church Cemetery on Western Reserve Road at 11:15 a.m.

Seven ceremonial wreaths will be placed to honor those in the military.

Special wreaths will be placed on memorials for the Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, Merchant Marine and prisoners of war.

There are 85 wreaths ready for the ceremony.

More than 400,000 wreaths are expected to be placed this year across the country.
