Boardman police charge teen with felonious assault

BOARDMAN — Township police arrested a teenager after a student accused the teen of felonious assault with a vehicle.

Michael West, 17, of Roche Way was charged with the second-degree felony on Tuesday. He was sent to the Martin P. Joyce Juvenile Justice Center in Youngstown.

A student at Boardman High School told police on Monday the driver of a Ford F-150 pickup truck came directly at him and struck him in the right shoulder as he got out of the way.

The student gave police West’s name as a possible suspect.
