1 dead in Ohio house fire
KETTERING, Ohio (AP) — Authorities say a person has died in an intense blaze that destroyed a southwest Ohio home.
The Dayton Daily News reports that Kettering Police Lt. Craig Moore says the fire’s heat prevented emergency responders from reaching the victim in time early today.
He says the victim died at the scene, and an officer sought hospital treatment for minor heat-related injuries. No other details were available immediately.
Moore says authorities weren’t able to determine right away whether anyone else was in the home in the suburban city south of Dayton.
Neighbors called 911 at around 3:50 a.m. to report the fire that engulfed the home. Investigators were trying to determine what started it.
