Method 8 academy to screen 3 films

Method 8 Arts Academy will screen three locally made films starting at 6 p.m. Friday at Kilcawley Center, on the campus of Youngstown State University.

Proceeds will go toward opening an arts foundation centered on using art to save lives, according to Brian K. West, founder of Method 8.

Admission will be free but donations will be accepted at the door and on the company website, method8inc.com. The evening will include free food and a raffle.

The films can be preordered at the event or at the website. They include:

“Indian Summer”: a horror film about a doctor who discovers a gene that can cure evil, featuring Sheyra Vazquez, Jessica Berg, Raniqua Young, Cornilus Murray and West.

“The Juveniles Who Saved Christmas”: a comedy skit about two young kids who find out their mom has been fired from her job, featuring Mia Davis, Mark Spayde Jr., Jessica Berg and West.

“Miracle: The Land of Escobar Part I”: which focuses on a girl (played by Vazquez) who becomes pregnant after a sexual assault, and is visited by an angel who helps her decide whether to bear the child.
