UPDATE | Man killed on MLK after impact with traffic light pole
YOUNGSTOWN — A man was killed at the scene of a one-car crash on Martin Luther King Boulevard near the 711 connector interchange early this morning.
The unidentified crash victim is believed to be in his 30s, said Theresa Valek, a Mahoning County coroner’s investigator on the scene.
Valek said police told her the deceased was driving west on the boulevard, when he crossed the center line and struck a traffic light support pole on the opposite side of the boulevard in the 7:21 a.m. crash.
Firefighters had to peel the roof off the 2003 Chevrolet Malibu to remove the victim.
