Farm outlook meeting set Friday in Canfield

CANFIELD — A farm outlook meeting will be offered 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Friday at Mill Creek MetroParks Farm, 7574 Columbiana-Canfield Road.

The event will explore what’s ahead for farmers and agricultural businesses in 2014 by offering programs from experts on outlook and policy. Cost is $10 and includes lunch.

Programs and speakers are “Farm Production Economics: What will costs of inputs, rent and other items be in 2014?” from Barry Ward, OSU Extension, Production Business Management; “Grain Market Outlook,” with Dr. Matt Roberts, Ohio State, Commodity Grain Markets; “Farm Policy and Farm Bill Update,” from Dr. Carl Zulauf, Ohio State, Policy Specialist; and “Dairy: Ohio Farm Business Summary— Using the Numbers,” with Dianne Shoemaker, OSU Extension Dairy Production Economics.
