2 men charged with drug offenses after traffic stops in Campbell
CAMPBELL — A Lowellville man and a Youngstown man both face drug and drug possession charges after separate traffic stops by city police for traffic violations on Monday.
Shortly after 9 a.m., police stopped 61-year-old Marios M. Nicolaou, of Upland Avenue in Lowellville, for speeding on Struthers-Liberty Road.
During a search of Nicolaou’s truck, police found suspected marijuana in the center console, along with drug paraphernalia.
He is charged with possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia, and also cited for the speeding violation.
At 6:12 p.m., police stopped 33-year-old Richard M. Stewart, of East High Avenue in Youngstown, for failing to signal his turn onto Wilson Avenue from Palmer Avenue.
Stewart admitted to police he was driving under suspension. Police then searched the car, finding two bags containing suspected marijuana. They also confiscated $62
Stewart is charged with possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia, and cited for the traffic violation and for driving under suspension.
