Boardman police search for man connected with TV theft


BOARDMAN — Boardman police are looking for a suspect in a Walmart theft over the weekend.

The male suspect, believed to be between 25 and 30 years old, is accused of taking two televisions and attempting to take two others before he was stopped by loss prevention.

The value of the items is $2, 472.

Boardman police were called to the store at 5:48 p.m. on Saturday. Loss prevention told police the man selected a 60-inch LED TV and a 32-inch TV and headed toward the exit. Loss prevention confronted the man before he could exit and he ran toward a gas station.

Loss prevention reviewed surveillance video of the incident and saw the man take two TVs at 5:34 p.m.

Walmart provided surveillance video to police showing the suspect's vehicle. The vehicle is an early 2000 model of a tan or silver Chevrolet Silverado quad cab.

The man is white, about 6-feet-1-inches tall and approximately 180 pounds. He wore a black baseball cap, sweatshirt, jeans and tan work boots.
